XF-120
Toward The Unknown Aircraft Serial Numbers

My dad got bored one night, popped the movie into the machine and started to write down the serial numbers for the aircraft he could see. Here's a start:

C-131 53-7790* Brought "Senator Black" and "Lt. Gen. Shelby" to Edwards AFB for inspection of the Flight Test Center
XF-92A
(F-102)
46-0682 Used in "BGen. Banner" crash sequence in opening scenes. XF-92A is marked as a F-102A "FC-801 / 31801" for this movie scene.
H-19B 52-7564

Transported visiting "Senator Black" to Rocket Ridge for tour of rocket test facility.

XB-51 (XF-120) 46-0685 Fictional "Gilbert XF-120." This aircraft later crashed on take-off from El Paso, Texas International Airport, March 25, 1956; two fatalities.
F-100A 53-1572* Chase aircraft flown by Major Bond when BGen. Banner was testing the XF-120 for cause of wing wrinkles.
JF-100A 52-5778* I grabbed this from NASA Dryden X-press: March 9, 1956: Capt. Joe B. Jordan flew NACA F-100A for scenes in TTU. This is the aircraft that Scott Crossfield ran through the NACA hangar wall, September 8, 1954.
F-100C 53-1716 Background during ramp scene early in the movie. Currently displayed at Luke AFB. Originally displayed in 1982 at Luke in Skyblazer markings as 54-2009. Now displayed in 58th TFTW markings; SEA camouflage.
JF-86D 50-0462 Background during indoor hangar scene showing preparation for F-94C drag chute test. Aircraft has red nose and buzz number FU-462.
RB-66B 53-0410 Background during indoor hangar scene showing preparation for F-94C drag chute test.
F-94C unknown Aircraft flown by Major Bond in the lake bed drag chute landing sequence. Possibly F-94C 51-5657*, which had been assigned to the El Centro parachute test facility.
F-94C 51-5642 Aircraft flown by BGen. Banner in the lake bed drag chute landing sequence
X-2 46-0674 X-2 playing herself
X-3 49-2892 Seen in Major Bond's stroll down the Edwards flight line. Yellow NACA stripe and number 892 on tail.
F-101A 53-2430* Seen in background during Major Bond's stroll down the Edwards flight line
EB-50D (JB-50D on data block) 48-096* X-2 Mother ship
